My second artistic love after photography is metalsmithing. In college, I would go from the darkroom to the metal shop. There's magic about stopping time in photos, but there's really SOMETHING about creating artwork out of metal with your bare hands! My good friend Anita has been working in metal while I have been shooting away, and her visit made me miss METAL so much!
I was "shopping" as I photographed her work since my jeweler's bench has 3 inches of dust on it, my silver has tarnished and I almost forgot how scary it is to have long hair and a lit torch in your hand! ;) She has inspired me to dig out my old raw materials and make something amazing.
